Animals and birds shall be accepted for transportation on«Nordavia -RA» passenger flights in strict accordance with requirements of veterinary bodies and other governmental bodies of the point of destination, provided the following conditions are met:
guide-dogs accompanying visually impaired passengers; no weight limitations shall be applied provided that the certificate of special training of such dog has been produced. A guide-dog shall have a muzzle and a lead on it and be attached to the chair at the feet of the visually impaired passenger it accompanies.
small dogs, cats, monkeys and songbirds (canaries, small parrots and other) shall be accepted for carriage, provided their total weight together with their container/cage does not exceed 8 kg.
Animals/birds, total weight of which together with their container/cage exceeds 8 kg (IATA recommendations), shall be transported in cargo departments
Liability of the Carrier
«Nordavia - Regional Airlines» shall not be held liable for any losses or delays in transportation, sicknesses or death of transported animals/birds, as well as for any prohibitions to enter the territory of countries of transfer, stop-over or destination.
Transportation of accompanied animals/birds in the passenger cabin or cargo compartment shall be paid for in accordance with special charges under the corresponding fare rules.
Total weight of animals/birds together with their containers/cages shall not be included into the passenger's free luggage allowance.
Acceptance of small animals/birds for such transportation is provisional, which means that «Nordavia - Regional Airlines» reserves the right to refuse in such transportation at any moment without any liability.
Passengers shall satisfy all requirements of «Nordavia - Regional Airlines» and veterinary control agencies, as well as compensate all Airline's losses or extra costs which might occur during the flight.
The following animals/birds shall be accepted for transportation in the passenger cabin: small dogs, cats, monkeys and songbirds (canaries, small parrots and other) shall be accepted for carriage, provided their total weight together with their container/cage does not exceed 8 kg.
If a passenger does not have a special container/cage, as an exception, animals and birds can be transported in closed baskets, traveling bags or boxes which have holes for fresh air. Birdcages must be covered with a thick light-resistant cloth. Containers/cages for animal/bird transportation shall comply with all existing requirements, otherwise the Airline reserves the right to refuse in animal/bird check-in and transportation.
Dimensions of containers/cages for animal/bird transportation shall not exceed dimensions of hand-luggage, established by the Airline.
During the flight containers/cages for animal/bird transportation shall be placed under the seat or at the passenger's feet.
Passengers shall not feed animals/birds during the flight. The Airline shall carry not more than two animals/birds in one passenger cabin section, not more than four animals in the passenger cabin on one flight.
The Airline shall not carry two antagonistic animals (e.g., a cat and a dog, a cat and a bird and so on) in one passenger cabin section.
Animals/birds, total weight of which together with their container (cage) exceeds eight kilogram (IATA recommendations), shall be carried in cargo compartment of the aircraft.
Passengers shall supply a container (cage) with reliable construction of sufficient size and access for their animals/birds to breathe. Passengers are prohibited to transport animals/birds without containers (cages).
The bottom of the container (cage) shall be water-resistant and covered with absorbent material.
The Airline reserves the right to refuse in transportation shall passengers fail to comply with the above mentioned requirements.
Passengers planning to travel with an accompanying guide-dog shall make a request for transportation of such dog at the moment of air ticket reservation. Guide – dogs are not included into allowance of animals transported in the passenger cabin.
If a visually impaired passenger travels with an accompanying guide-dog, such dog shall be accepted for transportation in the passenger cabin without a special container / cage, provided:
Passengers travelling with animals in the passenger cabin are prohibited to be seated next to emergency exits, kitchen and lavatory. A container / cage with the animal shall be places on the passenger’s knees or feet.
In accordance with the «Single veterinary (veterinary-sanitary) rules and conditions for goods subject to veterinary control», approved by the Customs Union Commission on 18.06.2010 (decision №317), and taking into consideration that there is no animal temporary reservation area at the state border crossing of the Russian Federation at the «Airport Arkhangelsk» (Talagi), in case passengers transporting animals from foreign countries to the territory of the Russian Federation breach veterinary requirements, such passengers might be prohibited to take animals off board of the aircraft and be obliged to return the animal to the country of departure (take it out from the territory of the Russian Federation) in accordance with the article 9.4 «Statute on the Single procedure of veterinary control at the customs border of the Customs Union and at the customs territory of the Customs Union», approved by the Customs Union Commission on 18.06.2010 (decision №317).
Other decisions might be made in terms of such animals, including elimination of such animals at the area of border crossing.
